McCain booed for calling Obama 'decent'

Not an actress (that's the real Palin, fer sure) but definitely a celebrity. And we've all seen how the bigger the celebrity, the harder they fall.

Since when has real change ever happened?  Obama is a leftist with very interesting and not so ethical friends and alliances.  He is supported by Acorn(voter fraud) ayres (terrorist) Fannie Mae and MAC (huge contributions for blocking reform supported by McCain), the "honorable" reverend Wright(God Damm the United Sates) and Louis Farakhan(called him the Savior).

These are just the ones we know about.  Now why on earth would I ever question his character?   Do you really think your taxes will go down?  He is lowering taxes by a little in his plan but what he doesn't mention is that he is letting the Bush tax cuts lapse.  Did you realize this????  By every estimate, that means your taxes will go up.  It's called a "gotcha!"  You didn't read his plan, did you?  I work in finance and read his plan and figured this out.  I so wish that the people who are supporting him because he is the flavor of the month would just do some research and be informed voters instead of lemmings like you are.

At least McCain served his country with honor and went above and beyond his call to duty.  He has record to look at versus no record of accomplishment of Obama.

I completely agree with you.  But, how did this happen.  Hillary has even hired an attorney to look into these allegations.  So it's not the McCain camp.  Why is the MSM covering this up.  I have read Obama really can't produce an authentic birth certificate from Hawaii.  If he gets elected and we later find out he is not an American citizen our whole political system will be broken.  We need to get to the truth whatever it may be before Nov. 4th.

Obama is hardly the "most radical far-left extremist!!"  He's more of a centrist.  "Numerous long-term subversive associations?"  Where's the "numerous?"  The board that Ayers and Obama served on was run by a conservative former Reagan-appointed Ambassador who asked both of them to be on his board along with numerous other people.  He wasn't friends with Ayers. Anyone in education circles knows Ayers. By the time Obama met him, his past had been forgotten.  If you play the guilty by assocation game, McCain would lose. Palin is married to someone who wants Alaska to secede from the U.S. That's "Muslim faith" thing is so stupid and you know it.   It's Bush who has been tearing our Consitution to shreds; Obama will retstore it.  He's a good American with leadership qualities and you can't handle that.

Even if Obama was a Muslem, what is wrong with that? Why do we feel we have the right to critisize a whole religion based on radicals.  By the sounds of these comments, there are alot of radical Christians out there as well.  I am a Christian and my religion does not allow me to say such hateful things about anybody.  We can agree to disagree, but, we should never be so hateful.  This great country was created based on the wants and needs for religious freedom. 

John McCain used to have my admiration.  Unfortunately, he has made some choices that have made me think twice.  His comment  "that one" during the last debate clinched it.  It wasn't respectful at all.  If he respects Obama, he never would have addressed him in that manner.  I am an informed voter.  I have read everything on everybody.  I actually research before making my decisions.  We can all put our own spin on anything.  That is why there are so many different versions of the Bible.  We all think we are right.   We should be passionate about this election, but we need to be less hateful and radical.  Where is this country going?  We have taken such a huge step backwards.

It is a shame that people are fine with a black man as long as he is playing on their favorite basketball or football team but wouldn't sit down to a meal with him.  As much as some want to say it isn't about race, unfortunately, I know far too many people who have admitted the truth.  They won't vote for Obama because he is black.  Never mind his is also white.  Please stop the hatred.

Obama (and McCain's) birth certificates are literally scanned all over the internet on reliable sites.   McCain gave his up and then Obama gave his up.  And since both of their mothers are American, so are they.

First of all I am sick of all you people who say you were a McCain supporter until...  B.S.  As for tax cuts.  Are you kidding me.  If you think there is going to be any money left over after the Democrats  in Congress get through paying off their buddy's in this banking crisis to give you a tax cut you are going to be very unhappy.  And lets be honest people, how much do you really pay in taxes.  After you get your write-offs and then you check back from the state and federal government, how much do you really pay.  I'll bet most of you only pay around 5-9%.  So there really isn't much left to give.  And also remember when they raise the taxes on small businesses they are going to have to raise their prices and/or cut employers.  So therefore you will need that tax cut to pay more for goods and services and that tax cut won't really matter to you when you are on the unemployment line collecting a check that you will then have to pay tax on.  Neither one of these candidates are going to give you anything.  So don't look for a hand out get off your butts and work.  Start your own business.  Find a way to make money for yourself and quit begging the government to help you.  They have never been able to help anyone but themselves.  That goes for Rep.s as well as Dems.  So hang on people no matter what we are in for a long and painful ride.

I have a friend and his family that have a small buisness and they are struggling as it is so the individuals that are in office right now are not doing much for the economy.  But on the other hand you want us to vote for some of the same policies as the individual already in office?  I think not!

This country needs a new outlook going into this century and to show the world we are not one sided like alot of them think we are..The latern needs more fuel before it goes dark and the individual that can fuel this lantern is Obama/Bidden..

Well tell your friends good-luck.  And I am not being sarcastic.  I really mean good-luck.  Obama has small business in his sites and he is going to go after them.  I hope you remember this if Obama gets elected.  As far as taxes, again how much of a % do middle-class citizens really pay.  My wife and I both work.  We are very middle-class.  After my interest deductions and after getting my state and federal check back, we are only paying about 6%.  That's all.  Thats not the end of the world.  I do not want a government handout.

You make a very good point. Somewhere along the line the Republicans have lost their way and it may have been when they started to cater to the Religious Right.  Then the Neocons came into power (Cheney, Rumsfelct, Wolfiwitz, etal) with their far right agenda, and unethical people like Tom Delay.  Rush Limbaugh has also done the Republicans and the country a disservice with his hate-filled talk and lies.  He and others likehim have lowered politicial discourse in this country.  There may be a lot of decent Repubicans out there but their party isn't the party it once was.

I tried to pause this video to check who were the sources of the articles being cited but could not. I noticed that two of them were Conservative publications, so I would not expect them to be unbiased. There is not the possiblity to read the articles cited because the video only shows a line or two of the article. That tells me that the statement is probably being taken out of context. In any case, there was nothing in it that has not been discussed over and over again. The Raines/Johnson thing has been disspelled several times. And all the others have been investigated and have not found a smoking gun. The Democrats did not take over Congress until 2006. I think there has been a clean bill passed regarding oversight. That is usually the reason why bills are voted down. They add "sweeteners" in order to get people on board. Look at the bailout/rescue bill. It wasn't until $150 billion in pork was added to it that the Republicans came on board.

This is another Hail Mary by some who need to keep focus away from all of the issues. One point, if so much was being done by the Republicans during the time period identified in the video, why didn't the Republicans just pass the legislation. They were in control of Congress at the time.

Roger, sorry it took so long to respond.  I do think the Government needs to look into the hands of these Wallstreet crooks.  I will even take it one step further.  I think heads need to roll when it comes to these CEO's.  I am outraged at our Congress, our Senate, our President, and these crooks on Wallstreet all of whom have taken advantage of average American citizens AGAIN!!  I am very afraid however that if the Democrat party has complete control we will never get to the bottom of this disaster.  They are already giving them (Wallstreet crooks) way more money than they need.  We should have let the free market take it course.  The Government should step in to investigate and prosecute.  We should not bail out these corrupt banks with our money.

There is no way we, the American people will be able to follow where this money goes.  The CEO's are going to take care of themselves first, then they will funnel money back to the Congress people who supported them.  Then that Congress person will get reelected and funnel more money back to the crooks.  This is a total outrage!!  That being said, McCain or Obama, will not be able to do anything different.  They both are part of the problem.   We are going to suffer for many years to come because we, the American people, would not find someone who is a real leader.  I don't know who that person is but it certainly is not McCain or Obama.

To tell you the truth, I don't blame him. In this environment, things get distorted, by both sides.

I hope this answers your question on who al-Mansour is. As for his association / relationship with Obama, I couldn't find anything that could be definitively proven in anyway that wasn't from suspect sources.

Wow! You didnt look then.  There is an interview with Percy Sutton who stated that he received a call from  al-Mansour asking him to help get a gentleman by the name of Barrack Obama into Harvard. But I guess that is tainted to you? Because in my findings he has no political agenda. I don't think I called you any names in my post. In fact I am very sure I haven't. You asked for information. I found contemporary biographical information, not news reports.

As for the interview with Percy Sutton, yes I have read it. You have one person, an 86 year-old man, saying "So-and-so called me and asked me to write a letter." Ok. He wrote a letter. And this matters why? Did al-Mansour force him to write it? Do you really think it made any difference at all whether or not Obama got into Harvard Law?

Again, why would al-Mansour ask Percy Sutton to write a letter for Obama, if he himself is such a powerful man? He has the ear of one of the richest men in the world. Why not have him write the letter? Or just pony up the money?

Also, why would Obama need the letter? He was a legacy. His father went to Harvard. That scores a few extra points on the Admission. Plus there is that application, the admissions interviews, the LSAT scores, previous college scores. Harvard Law is not easy to get into. One letter of recommendation is not going to make a difference if the person is a horrible student.

By the way, you do know about legacy entrances at Ivy League Colleges, right? It gives you a leg up in getting admitted. Bush was a legacy at Yale thanks to dear old dad. And I wouldn't doubt that part of McCain's acceptance to the Naval Academy may have had something to do with his father and grandfather also being graduates of the Academy in Annapolis, because by all accounts he was a mediocre student.

If you listen carefully to what the Sutton is saying, there are anachronisms. First he says he met and was introduced to Obama, then it was he was asked to write a letter for Obama. Which is it? He also states that Obama was already accepted to Harvard and could be President of the Law Review. What? You have to be at least a second year student to be selected as one of the editors of the law review. And the reivew panel of 80 people are the ones that pickthe lead editor, or President. That requires the grades, written articles, and interviews.

You are right the Mr Sutton does not have an agenda. None at all. But I think we heard two different interviews if you can go from the ramblings of an old man to Obama was financed by a radical. As for how did he pay for Harvard? Have you heard of Student Loans? Grants? Scholarships?

I went looking for basic facts. Not news reports. I'm sorry I wasn't able to live up to your expectations of what you believe an Obama supporter would come up with.

As for your charge: Who am I to choose what is tainted and stained with innuendo? How about this: I will admit that my choice was subjective. Anybody who is going to vote has a subjective interest in this. But that does not negate my ability to think critically. I looked for information that wasn't written by a blogger or news organization. It's kind of like looking in an encyclopedia. It's full of facts, but little or no opinion. That is what I was going for.

I did find one interview with al-Mansour which is basically one big "No Comment". I try to find both sides of the story. Do you?

And the article wasn't about HP. It was directly from the African Leaderhip Academy's website, word for word. I included the information about Ms Fiorina because I just thought it was interesting that she serves on a board with this "radical". Gee, does that sound familiar?

I never asked how he paid for his education, that is irrelevant. The question is only to his association with this man and why it was important to him.  That's it.

Why so much secretiveness? If I had so many throwing these accusations at me  I certainly wouldnt brush it off.

His voting record shows me that he isnt representing the people, so I need to know alittle more about the person.

Clearly it is smoke and mirrors for you. But I don't think you really care as long as you just follow your party.  To me that isnt truly educating yourself.  If you only look for the good and avoid the bad, all you see is what you want to see.  Good luck with that.

You will read what you want. And no, I don't blindly follow any party. I do actually research where the candidates stand on the issues. And where do I get the information on the policy stances? Why the candidates own websites. I also look at websites such as TaxPolicyCenter.org to look at an independent analysis of how the tax policies will affect me.

I also have tried to find answers to the questions that are being brought up about Obama. Yes, he is an unknown quantity that is why I looked for as much nonpartisan information as I could. I've read the news reports on both the so-called liberal sites, and the so-called conservative sites. I'm sure the truth is somewhere in between.

But Obama's past isn't a big factor in my decision to support him. Where he stands on the issues are more important to me.

I've made my decision. Apparently you have made yours. I've tried to be respectful and answer the questions you have asked, as you requested. I also wish you the best.

No matter what happens on November 4th, I'll know I have done my part to participate in the circus US elections have become. And I am sure that you will have done your part.

Whatever happens, who ever wins, that person will be the President of the United States. I can only hope and pray that he will be able to help, and not hurt, this country.

The last one is very nice if you are looking for issue stances. It even includes third party candidates, something that is missing from a lot of other sites.

Politifact seems to take some pleasure out of skewering ALL candidates when they "mis-speak". They have a "Truth-o-Meter" that goes from "Truth" to "Pants on Fire" lying. And they skewer everyone.
