John McCain was booed by his own supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions about Barack Obama's character, he described the Democrat as a "decent person."
George you might consider sources other than wikpedia since they are considered less than reliable by many. This a site that can be edited without too much verification.
Before you all go to the polls and cast your votes, I URGE you to please go to the website below and read this article entitled: "Make Believe Maverick - the Real John McCain"
Within the context of this article, there's another article entitled: "Mad Dog Paln".
If you can't retrieve this website, then go to Search and insert "Rolling Stone Magazine" where this article originated from. This was written by their reporter, Matt Taibbi, bless his heart.
PLEASE, PLEASE read these two articles before you even condemn Obama. These articles shed light on these two candidates who would do anything to manipulate the voters to gain their confidence and votes.
Let me tell you, I really saw the REAL John McCain and Sarah Palin (I never thought much of Palin to begin with). She does not portray the personna and class befitting that of a Vice President.
Dear Batsie,
God Bless you and Heaven smile upon you.
While I'm happy to see that McCain finally grew some cajones it must be pointed out that the opposite of "Arab" is NOT "decent family man."
Yeah, I noticed that. He needed to separate those two thoughts. Whether he treats Obama as a decent person in the upcoming debate remains to be seen. Perhaps he has been suitably humbled.
yea. maybe obama is both
ITS ALL THAT SEAN '' THE INSANITY'' HANNITY, RUSH '' THE BIG FAT IDIOIT " AND ALSO DOPEHEAD" LIMBAUGH AND BILL " LUNATIC''O'REILLY FAULTS THEY'RE TCONTRIBUTING TO THIS MADNESS THEY SHOULD PUT ON TRIAL ALONG WITH SARAH PALIN FOR LIBEL AND SLANDER AND ARRESTED.
lmao... proofread and delete the whole thing next time.
Obama has nothing to offer as president. His change comments have no merit. He will divide this country more than anything ever to happen in the U.S. The only votes he gets are from those who believe he will put dollars in their pockets in some way. Union members will vote for him because they are instructed to by their union bosses. They have no mind of their own. That is the democrat's way. Buy votes, illegal votes, fake votes for anything that claims to be a democrat regardless of what he or she is. Look at any union directive for voting, all democrats, they can be pedofiles or anything else. What a group...................
Sen. Obama has conducted himself during his campaign as a person who has a vision for his country and who sees the necessity of uniting people from all walks of life to work for change. People have listened. Americans find that immensely appealing after having a 'decider' type bunkered in the White House for nearly eight years, ignoring the plight of the middle and working classes, and allowing corporate government to grow out of all proportion - even as the nations economy crumbles at his feet.
On the other hand, Senator McCain has conducted one of the most vicious, divisive campaigns in history, even to the point of choosing a running mate he can use as nothing more than bait to keep the country divided and angry.
He's now moving toward a kinder, more conciliatory tone because the angry mobs he attracted were getting out of hand and it scared him. It may be too little, too late, but he's trying to fix it now. I worry that, if he's elected and cops an attitude like that in his foreign policy, he'll have the potential of creating messes on a global scale...and he may not be able to back up and fix them so easily.
I have been to many political rallies over the years, and there are always boos and objectors and loud mouths. No big deal here, as it just got more publicity by the lib media to further their agenda.
Get over it.
Had Clinton's vices been discussed and revealed more openly in 1992, he would have been defeated. I am glad that candidates talk about character, associations, and personality, whatever, so that we voters get the full picture, take it or leave it.
Nobody cared that Bush was a drunk, failed in all of his business endeavors, was a draft dodger, and only got to the White House by slick political tactics, similar to Obama's tactics.
Don't get hyped up that Obama is any savior, as most of the top politicians over the years have let us down in one way or another. They all are to blame for the financial mess and ongoing war in Iraq. The Dems could have stopped this war, if they really wanted to, but did not in order to use it as a big wedge issue for this election.
Joe where do associations begin and stop for instance I am a former POW Germany 1944 and have shaken hands with FDR Truman Ike Kennedy Johnson Nixon Ford Carter Reagan and Clinton does that make me a Nazis, responsible for packing the courts, dropping the atom bomb, the 1958 recession, bay of pigs, Vietnam, Watergate, pardoning Nixon, the Iranian Hostage crisis, Iran Contra and a liaison with a White House intern, for if it is I've led quite a life???
There has to be a point of when it stops for McCain has shading relations as Keating as well as many others.
Do we elect our Presidents on this stuff???? I don't.
It's amusing to see that McCain has come out to denounce the gestures of those attending his rallies. The problem with that is he and Plain are the ones the excited his supporters to cross the line. They called Senator Obama a terrorists for a week, allowed their supporters to use Senator Obama's middle name, if it were not for the events of 9/11 they would NOT be using his last name. I think Congress men Lewis was correct in stating that McCain and Plain were/are dividing the country with hidden racism in their comments.
First off, I'm not a McCain supporter.
So do you honestly think Obama supporters have said nothing inappropriate about McCain/Palin? Or is it just the fact that the liberal media has not publicized those inappropriate Obama supporters comments like they have a few misguided, misinformed and moronic supporters of McCain/Palin? There are overzealous idiots on each side. You're very naive if you're manipulated by the media in this manner. Also, I wasn't aware that calling someone a terrorist was being racist. LOL
Mr Lewis is very naive as well or just searching for a little publicity. There was racist division in many parts of the USA long before McCain/Palin and there will be long after they've gone. It wasn't suddenly 'created' by McCain/Palin campaigning.
It's too bad nether side shows much promise in providing solutions to the tremendous problems that our Country now faces. All we get is attack Obama/look at them -- all McCain can do is attack us, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
American's deserve far better.
McKKK/Pain ticket (I removed the L because she has removed "L"ikeability from their ticket) is doing their utmost to incite deep fear, distrust, loathing and potentially danger to Barack Obama. It's nothing new among the extremists and terror-mongers on the far right (or any extremist or terrorist movement... remember, terrorists create terror) to try to win at any cost. Pain (remember, the "L" is missing now), mugs and winks and love-stares the camera using the guile that has negatively stereotyped women for eons, and she does so in the service of no-holds-barred distortion of facts using sneering, sarcasm and hate-mongering attacks on Obama that claim he's virtually a terrorist and traitor.
This is the same no holds barred, no taste, no decency, no Christianity, no honesty used against McCain himself (as well as Kerry). I'm a 60 year old midwestern, middleclass white woman with a 20 year old son in college, who remembers the lasting stains of McCarthyism when calling someone a Communist could win votes for those leveling the attack, and absolutely end careers and destroy lives. I remember the gut-twisting race hatred-language and actions of the 1950s and years hence, even by churches, and the brain-splitting outrage we as young people felt at the sheer level of contradiction between the "faithful" and "patriotic" and their horrific hateful words and actions, their war-mongering, and racism.
And thanks to McKKK and PAIN, here we go again, with the vitreol, the character assasination, doing everything possible to make Obama appear unclean, unAmerican, untrustworthy, and in-human. O, and what a wimp McCain is, to send out the little women to fire all the shots for him in public, while McCain, the famous military man, hides behind their skirts -- never once having the gones to say any of his lies and distortions to Barack Obama's face. Many of my friends and family are Republicans, decent people and not hateful, and they are as upset as I am at what we're seeing from the party they have a stake in and have worked for, too. I am heart-broken to see the revival of hate-talk being used by McCain/Palin and the hawkers who sell their wares, as it had seemed that America was making progress in terms of race and decency -- but now we're set back 30 years in terms of race-baiting and hate-baiting. We must take note: "McKKK/PAIN first; America last."
WOW how did ya get a name like joy? lol.
Mc KKK, now where did ya get that from? Personally I like Obama Nation (because ogf all the real life meanings it has). But then theres Nobama, and my other favorite OH Bla BLa. or just obama biLAden. yea its JUST a coincidence.
All you "i'm a republican but i love obama" liars make me laugh. Yea thats gonna get people to agree with you. If you want mindless people to vote your way get a celebrity to endorse them.
And you missed the pointy obama DOES pal around with a terroorist. Well not anymore, he dropped him when people found out. JUst like he did his poor innocent pastor. Wonder who else will be dropped when the light hits the shadows.
What was the topic again? Oh yea, how McCain didn't allow some supporters to spead lies. But its ok for obama to be silent when a fellow elected democrat compares McCain to a well know segregationist. Hate him all you want, but hes never said a thing to back up that claim.
The Obama Campaign answered that immediately and repudiated it. My God you folks need to get your facts straight before hitting that post button. Truth my friend will set you free from the shackles of right wing fear mongering that only dishonors America.
At first McCain and Palin completely and willingly bashed Obama's character without any merit. Now McCain does not want to be so negative towards Obama's character. Old John is flip-flopping. I guess McCain didn't think such idiots would so publicly show their ignorant hatred like those with all their stupidity who yell 'Off with his head'. Off with THEIR heads. We don't need ignorant hateful people in this Peace-Loving Nation. Even the children of these hateful idiots are turning away from their parents' ignorant views. It is unfortunate that parents and pastors/ministers actually teach their children to be such fanatical hateful beings. Right-wing hateful fanatics should not be allowed to breed.
Your women out there don't get it. You all have a chance to get a women into a major power office and you get hung up on so many petty and irrelevant factors. You women could have gotten Hillary into the Prez office, but you all did not stick together. You all got fooled then and even now. Obama got the nomination because the blacks out smarted you with voting for Obama
98% of the blacks are sticking together and will vote for Obama.
I wonder if there is ever going to be a women put into high office, since you women out there just cannot stick together and get a lady elected. You all just follow what the men are pushing for you.
This election is so racist, in a reverse way, as the blacks are voting that way for the support of their racial causes and agenda.
After Obama gets elected, I don't want to ever hear again that blacks don't get a fair shake and cannot get ahead in life or get jobs or whatever the case may be.
I will be a happy camper once I see and hear all of that whining finally stop.
